Our School's Golden Rules

We recognize the importance of a positive approach to the behaviour of children in school. We consider the best way to encourage good standards of behaviour is by establishing a clear code of conduct backed by a balanced combination of rewards and sanctions within a positive school environment. Our school code of conduct is based on six ‘golden rules' namely:

We are gentle… we don’t hurt others We are honest..We don’t cover up the truth
We are kind and helpful.. We don’t hurt anybody’s feelings We work hard.. We don’t waste our own or  others time
We listen.. We don’t interrupt We look  after property .. We don’t waste or damage things

Staff will refer to these rules on a regular basis and Mrs Devlin will emphasise the importance of keeping to the Golden Rules at whole school assembly. On a monthly basis classes will present an assembly. Mrs Devlin will present the Golden Book at whole school assemblies in recognition of the achievements of pupils working towards the Golden Rules.
