Creative Connections Celebration Day

12th May 2026
What an amazing and memorable day Mrs Devlin, Mr Cullen and some of our P5/6 pupils had today at the Creative Connections Celebration Day in the beautiful Guildhall, Derry.

We were made to feel so special from the moment we arrived and enjoyed a delicious breakfast whilst seated at the top table alongside schools from across Ireland. There were over 40 schools and more than 160 pupils taking part in this fantastic celebration event.

Throughout the day the children participated in a range of exciting and creative activities including making their own ducks in less than 60 seconds, taking part in a Guildhall tour where they photographed interesting patterns, shapes and features, and visiting the Derry Girls Museum where they had the opportunity to have their photo taken on the famous living room sofa set! The day ended in spectacular fashion as everyone came together to participate in a live orchestra performance this afternoon.

The highlight of the day for us all was when Finn and Ailise confidently took to the stage for a fireside chat, speaking so proudly and passionately about our wonderful Creative Connections projects. They represented our school brilliantly and we could not be prouder of every single child who attended today. Their manners, enthusiasm and confidence were a credit to our school community.

A very special word of thanks to Kelly, Alanna and everyone involved in organising such a truly memorable and inspiring day for all the children and staff. We have made memories that will last a lifetime.
