πβ¨ World Book Day at St. Maryβs β¨π
Today there were lots of very interesting characters walking around St. Mary’s instead of our usual pupils! From famous storybook heroes to magical creatures, the school was full of imagination and excitement as we celebrated World Book Day together.
Our day began with a special assembly led by Willy Wonka, who welcomed everyone into a world of stories and adventure. Throughout the day, the children enjoyed a wide range of activities including designing their own bookmarks, researching their favourite authors, and taking part in hot seating where they answered questions while staying in character.
Some pupils even took part in a BBC-style interview with an author, while others explored creative World Book Day activities on Just2Easy.
It was a fantastic day that highlighted the joy of reading and the power of storytelling. Promoting a love of reading is a key priority within our School Development Plan, and days like today help to inspire our pupils to discover new books, new authors and new ideas.
At St. Mary’s we are proud to be Growing in Faith, Learning with Joy, Succeeding Together, and today certainly showed how much joy reading can bring.
Well done to all the children and thank you to our staff and families for helping make the day so special! ππ
