On a balmy afternoon this week St. Mary’s pupils, parents, friends and governors listened as their school Governor Mr Jimmy Logan rang the old school bell and with that launched the golden balloons up into the air to commemorate 50 years of education at St. Mary’s. Although a few balloons were determined to stay around all of them eventually floated off. Each balloon (all biodegradable of course) has a pupil or staff’s name on the label and we will wait patiently to see whose travels the furthest.
